Yesterday he came home crying.
Pilar had died. Talkative woman, cheerful, neat. Ernie was complicated groin. Retained fluids. Large leg ulcers. It was very fast, just five days.

Today was not a good day.
When he entered the room 729, Lucy was not in the window. Grandmother grateful and smiling. When operated on for appendicitis, the wound became infected, and their weak defenses led to a bacterial infection. He endured almost a month.
But the worst was not that.
She had spent hours with Lucia. She made the bed. Had washed. Had helped her up. He had calmed down. He had taken the temperature and stress. I had injections. Had cured the points of the Ernie. He had been there when he was about to go into cardiac arrest. Had controlled his oxygen ...
and had not even shed a tear.
That scared her.
What would morning?
